Getting There

With this new house, I gained the best and worst yard I've ever had. By that I mean I never had so much of a space, which is fantastic especially in a city setting. But the worst part is it has pretty much gone untouched for 10 years. You can all guess what that does to a yard. But the last few days brought some serious improvements compliments of sweat equity. Hubbie really needed to get a mental break, si I think it helped him digging in the soil a bit and planting some grass seed. It certainly doesn't look near as good as these fabulous spaces, but its progress. One can dream.

I wanted to wish all my readers a wonderful, peaceful weekend. My crazy life consists of a husband in the hospital (he's ok and coming home today), a baby coming ANY day now it seems, and a three year old excited for the Easter Bunny. That's how it goes!

Searching for some new books for my library early this morning, I came across this amazing photo of Truman Copote by Slim Aarons for sale.

I immediately got a shot of adrenaline, thinking how we all need to strive for style, humor, and authenticity in our lives. Truman had it all.

Rubie goes to bed

I was excited to see Rubie Green launch an organic bedding line yesterday. I think her popular "East Village" in pink makes for an adorable duvet and I am highly considering it for my little girl's room! The price is a good fit in this economy. I can't stand to see $200.00 shams, so for Rubie's price of $78.00 for the pair is a good value for all that organic yumminess. Good luck Michelle!

Bunny Hop

I've had a lot of living transition in the last decade (by my own default) between houses,lofts,apartments,and so on. So when it comes to holiday decorating, I kind of stink at it. I never felt a sense of tradition like I do now in the current (and hopefully permanent for awhile) house. I think kids do it to you too. So, when it comes to Easter, I'm going to make more of an effort this year. I thought a couple of these Martha images might get us all in the mood!
