Pink Houses

Martha Stewart knows houses. But her Maine guest cottage really proves she can show her softness in approach and strength in overall effect. It's a cotton candy cloud that I would love to stay in for the night! We are are talking mouldings, trim, and walls in this perfect pink that if I'm not mistaken, Martha doesn't seem to want to reveal the exaact shade. Any ideas? And I love the pairing of grey (on the ceiling and furniture choices). Grey is my new black, I love it. I think this works beautifully as a guest cottage, as in you might tire of an all pink palette, or maybe you wouldn't. But one thing I know is that if I ever earn enough bucks to buy a lakehouse, I might go pink.

In the new House Beautiful ( I know, enough all ready!) Color story,"Dying to Try", Bobby Mcalpine mentions a Ralph Lauren color "Walton Creme" that seems to have that dreamy pink yet so soft feel of Martha's. Tell me your thoughts! I know Pink Wallpaper should have a few. Check out her pink post.

I loved that article on MS's pink house. Can you imagine? I do think I would have painted the trim a contrasting linen white though - but that's me. It's lucious either way. Beautiful blog, btw.

I love those chairs in Martha's dining room (the ones with the circles)! The style and the color and right up my alley. There was an article in the January HB with chairs from Martha's furniture line, that had a similar look and feel. These have the look of original antiques!

I saw those chairs too, so chic! I would love about 6 of them.
