Back With Stripes

I'm happy to be on the blogging bandwagon. How's everyone?

Ok, so I was feeling a bit blase about my stairwell. So Gary the fabulous painter came and did some stripes on the bias. I've lived with them for a few days and its a major change to say the least, but I think I really like it. If you are going to make a statment you better make a statement, right? What do you think?

And all the joy that comes with it! Blink and its over, so savor every day. I will get back to some regular posting, I promise. With James keeping me up most the night, and client work waiting for me during the day, blogging somehow is getting lost in the shuffle. But I've got some things I want to get off my chest. Getting There

With this new house, I gained the best and worst yard I've ever had. By that I mean I never had so much of a space, which is fantastic especially in a city setting. But the worst part is it has pretty much gone untouched for 10 years. You can all guess what that does to a yard. But the last few days brought some serious improvements compliments of sweat equity. Hubbie really needed to get a mental break, si I think it helped him digging in the soil a bit and planting some grass seed. It certainly doesn't look near as good as these fabulous spaces, but its progress. One can dream.

I wanted to wish all my readers a wonderful, peaceful weekend. My crazy life consists of a husband in the hospital (he's ok and coming home today), a baby coming ANY day now it seems, and a three year old excited for the Easter Bunny. That's how it goes!

A Life Examined

Searching for some new books for my library early this morning, I came across this amazing photo of Truman Copote by Slim Aarons for sale.

I immediately got a shot of adrenaline, thinking how we all need to strive for style, humor, and authenticity in our lives. Truman had it all.
